Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence recently released the Leica Absolute Tracker AT500 and the B-Probeplus, which succeed the Leica Absolute Tracker AT403/B-Probe. This system combines the portability and large-volume measurement capabilities of the AT40x with the productivity features of the AT9x0 and ATS600 series. The design of the AT500 emphasizes applications previously addressed by AT40x systems, such as long-range measurements, levelling, autocollimation, entry-level probing, and other scenarios where portability and ease of use are essential. This paper presents representative applications in which the AT500 addresses these measurement tasks and describes the available accessories.
The Leica Absolute Tracker AT500 makes measurement simple without compromising on portability, productivity and resilience. From transport case to large-scale measurement is just a matter of moments thanks to a hassle-free setup process, while IP54-rated protection and an extended operating temperature range keep the AT500 working under even the most challenging conditions. From reflector measurement at up to 160 metres from the tracker to simplified 6DoF probing functionality, the Leica AT500 is ready for every manufacturing and assembly challenge, no matter the size or location.
The Leica AT500 is our easiest ever laser tracker. Out of the transport case, power on and you’re ready to measure. There are no cables thanks to the built-in controller and battery power, as well as no levelling or reflector initialisation required. The system runs on two IATA compliant batteries, hot-swappable and offering up to 6 hours of runtime. Measurement is faster too – at a 100 Hz, point collection is 10 times faster than the AT403, while the latest generation of our patented PowerLock automatic targeting system avoids time wasting. The system is also augmented by the new AT500 Connect App, which allows network setup and levelling to be performed on your smart phone or tablet (available for Android and iOS).
The B-Probeplus delivers a completely new user experience for entry-level probing. Completely wireless measurement now comes with live feedback and a wide acceptance angle of up to 16° in any direction at a range of up to 12 metres from the tracker. The new probe unit also features redesigned, more durable buttons and an extended battery runtime of up to 6 hours, along with probing measurement accuracy specified in line with ISO 10360-10.
The AT500 boasts IP54-rated protection from the elements, as well as an extended working temperature range of -15 to +50°C, allowing for measurement from the mountaintop to the foundry. And thanks to the all-in-one integrated design with built-in controller – a first for an Absolute Tracker system – the AT500 is more portable than ever.
